White Peony — Tea from Home

White Peony — Tea from Home

A 3-year aged, high-grade White Peony—sun-withering refined for a floral-honey lift and a silky, lasting finish.

Sun-withering refined in gentle intervals, this high-grade White Peony keeps its natural leaf shape while building a floral-honey aroma. With two years of rest, it drinks sweet and silky—lifted and delicate, with a clean finish rather than a heavier, fruit-forward style.

Tasting Notes:

Silky · Rounded · Comforting

Why Choose This White Peony?

+

This White Peony is not trying to imitate Fuding white tea.

It is a small-batch Zhejiang interpretation, made from the same seed-grown Qunti Zhong leaves usually reserved for early spring Dragon Well. Instead of pan-firing the leaves into green tea, my father processed them as white tea through hand sun-withering and drying.

After three years of rest, the cup is floral, smooth, and gently fruity, with notes of honeysuckle, citrus peel, and ripe persimmon. It feels deeper than a fresh white tea, but still cleaner and more lifted than an old white tea.

Choose this tea if you enjoy white tea, but want to taste a more unusual small-leaf expression from outside the classic Fuding style.

A Zhejiang Small-Leaf White Tea

+

White Peony is most often associated with Fuding, where the style is made on a much larger scale and supported by a long regional tradition.

This tea comes from a different starting point: Zhejiang’s small-leaf Qunti Zhong cultivar. The leaves are smaller, more aromatic, and usually used for green teas like Dragon Well.

That makes this tea a rare experiment within the Tea from Home collection. It shows what happens when high-grade Zhejiang spring leaves are treated with the patience of white tea instead of the heat of green tea.

The result is familiar enough to enjoy as White Peony, but different enough to feel distinctly our own.

Three Years Rested, Deeper Than Expected

+

This batch was made in Spring 2023 and has now rested for three years.

Because the leaves were withered more deeply during processing, the dry tea looks darker than many three-year Fuding White Peony teas. This is part of its style, not a flaw.

The deeper withering and time in storage have softened the fresh green edge and brought out a warmer sweetness. The cup remains floral and clean, but the flavor leans more toward ripe fruit, honeyed softness, and a rounded finish.

It sits between fresh white tea and older white tea: no longer grassy, not yet woody, but already smooth and settled.

Part of Tea from Home

Five teas, one family garden.

This tea is one expression of our Tea from Home collection — five small-batch teas made from the same seed-grown Qunti Zhong leaves in Zhejiang.

By changing the craft, my father reveals a completely different side of the same garden: green, white, black, yellow tea.
