FAQ

What does “Tea from Home” mean?

Tea from Home is a collection of everyday teas my family has been making and drinking for years. They aren’t the rarest or most expensive teas I source—they’re simply the teas that stay on the kitchen table and are shared with neighbors and friends.

Are these teas from the same garden?

Yes. Every tea in the Tea from Home collection comes from the same family garden in Zhejiang and is made from traditional local seed-grown tea plants (Qunti Zhong).
Rather than relying on different origins, each tea expresses the same landscape through different harvest timings and crafting methods. From spring green tea to yellow tea, white tea, and black tea, each style reveals a different side of the same place.
That’s the idea behind Tea from Home: one familiar landscape, many expressions.

What does “small batch” actually mean?

These teas are made in limited quantities by a small workshop rather than a large factory. Production follows the natural rhythm of the harvest, so availability changes from season to season and some teas may not return every year.
Like any agricultural product, every batch is slightly different. Weather, harvest timing, and craftsmanship all leave their mark. We cup every batch carefully and select teas that stay true to the clean, balanced style we look for—while still allowing each harvest to express its own character.

Why do teas from the same place taste so different?

Because tea is shaped by more than terroir. Different cultivars, picking standards, oxidation levels, and processing methods can create completely different flavor profiles—even when grown in the same garden.

Which Tea from Home tea should I start with?

  • Dragon Well → savory & refreshing
  • Pearl Yellow → mellow & easy
  • Floral Black → naturally sweet
  • White Peony → soft & silky
  • Emerald Dew → bright & nutty
