Seattle Tea Gathering
Seattle Tea Gathering
A small-group tea gathering in Seattle, hosted by Brew & Blossom founder Shirley.
Each Tea Meet is a guided tasting built around curiosity, conversation, and the quiet pleasure of sharing tea. We taste several teas side by side, explore what makes them different, and connect what we notice in the cup to origin, processing, brewing, and everyday enjoyment.
The format is relaxed and beginner-friendly — no prior tea knowledge needed.

Shirley was an absolute delight! She was incredibly insightful and personable with all experience levels when it came to Chinese tea. I went with a group, and even my friend (who knows quite a bit about tea) was so delighted that he wanted to invite her to drink tea with us sometime (he has quite a collection of rare teas!). I’d love to keep coming back to learn more.
Went to Shirley's Tea Gathering for Yellow Tea and had an incredible experience. Her knowledge is so vast and I also appreciate how the class size is more intimate so she can fully engage with all participants and give thoughtful answers to any and all questions. I will absolutely be signing up for future events!
I attended Shirley's gathering about Green Tea last week and was delighted to find the meeting not intimidating, as I had feared, but friendly, organic, and easy-going. Though obviously an expert on everything from the flavor and texture profiles of her product to the sourcing and preparation of these leaves, she was also clear, direct, and friendly in an unpretentious way that made for lively group discussion even when many of us had little real background or experience. All this is to say nothing of the quality of the teas, which ran a gamut that truly encouraged attention to palette and mouthfeel in a way that's made me excited to dip into her catalogue. I'll gladly be attending other events of hers in the future.
Casual, friendly, and highly informative. It is a great way to become familiar with the basics of tea, or to ask more technical questions. We learned how our teas were prepared and the various ways it's served, including different brewing methods and brief explanations of the chemistry behind each one. I asked many questions, and the session left me excited about incorporating Chinese teas into my daily life.
Shirley puts together a great experience for those looking to try new teas and explore both brewing and tasting on a deeper level. She is very knowledgeable and creates a great atmosphere for the room to share in conversation and ask questions. I personally loved the library venue and felt like a student of tea with the tasting notes and handouts accompanying the day's teas. I definitely recommend for both novice and experienced tea drinkers!
