Glass Tea Pitcher

Glass Tea Pitcher

A clear glass tea pitcher designed for a smoother pour.

Made from heat-resistant borosilicate glass, this 260 ml tea pitcher is sized to hold roughly two infusions from a standard gaiwan, making it ideal for everyday gongfu brewing.

Choose between a right-pour or left-pour design, shaped for the way you naturally hold and tilt the pitcher. The angled spout gives a clean, controlled pour, with a crisp cut-off that helps prevent tea from running down the side.

Lightweight, transparent, and easy to use, it lets you appreciate the color of each infusion while serving tea evenly into cups.

Why Use a Tea Pitcher?

+

A tea pitcher, also known as a fairness cup in gongfu tea, helps make each pour more even.

Instead of pouring directly from the gaiwan into several cups, you first pour the full infusion into the pitcher. This evens out the strength of the tea, so each cup gets the same aroma, color, and concentration.

It also gives you more control. You can stop the tea from over-steeping, appreciate the liquor color, and serve each infusion slowly and cleanly.

For everyday gongfu brewing, a tea pitcher is one of the simplest tools that makes the whole session feel smoother.

Designed for a Clean, Comfortable Pour

+

Dehua, Fujian has long been known for its white porcelain, but not all white porcelain feels the same in daily use.

This set uses a Lard White finisha warm, creamy white inspired by the traditional Chinese description “zhuyoubai.” The name refers to a soft, luminous white rather than a cold or stark white.

Fired at approximately 1300°C, the porcelain is dense, smooth, and less porous than lower-fired ceramics. Tea stains are less likely to sink into the surface, making the set easier to rinse clean even after tea has been left for a while.

The color is quiet enough to let the tea take focus, while still making it easy to appreciate the shade of the liquor in the cup.

Glass vs. Ceramic Tea Pitchers

+

Ceramic tea pitchers can be beautiful, but for daily gongfu brewing, I often reach for glass.

A well-designed glass pitcher usually gives a cleaner pour. The tea stops neatly at the spout instead of running down the side, which helps keep the pitcher, cups, and tea table clean through repeated infusions.

Clear glass also lets you see the tea liquor directly. Color, clarity, and cloudiness are all part of understanding a tea, especially when tasting multiple infusions.

Glass is also easy to rinse clean between teas, with less concern about staining or lingering aroma. For everyday brewing, those small details make the whole session feel smoother.

FAQ

Do I need a tea pitcher for gongfu brewing?

You can brew without one, but a tea pitcher makes the session smoother. It lets you pour the full infusion out of the gaiwan at once, even out the strength of the tea, and serve each cup more evenly.

How do I choose Right Pour or Left Pour?

Choose the version that matches the hand and direction you naturally use when pouring. Right Pour is designed for pouring comfortably from the right side, while Left Pour is designed for pouring from the left side.

How much tea does it hold

The pitcher holds 260 ml / 8.8 fl oz, which is enough for roughly two infusions from a standard 100–130 ml gaiwan.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes. It is made from heat-resistant borosilicate glass and is dishwasher safe. Hand washing is recommended to reduce the chance of bumps or chipping.
